About Bibliotek.dk

How can I use Bibliotek.dk?

At Bibliotek.dk  you can find and order materials from Danish libraries and pick them up at your local library.

Once you have ordered the material at Bibliotek.dk, the order is sent to your local library, which takes care of the order. You have to be a registered user at the pickup library.

You can borrow almost everything

You can borrow most of Bibliotek.dk's materials. Though, there are exceptions. The libraries set their own lending rules and can decide:

  • only to lend books to its own users, e.g. NOTA
  • that a particular collection is not for loan, e.g. The Royal Library's collection of movies

Bibliotek.dk does not purchase materials

Bibliotek.dk contains at the same time all materials at Danish libraries and the Danish national bibliography. The national bibliography is a registrant of all published materials in Denmark - music, books, films etc. It is all displayed at Bibliotek.dk - even if it should not be available in a library.

Bibliotek.dk does not purchase materials and we do not have influence on the libraries' choice of materials. If you have suggestions to a new material at Bibliotek.dk, please contact your local library.
